Please remember to direct all communication to our office and do not reach out directly to staff or team members via social media. Thank you for your support!

We can’t wait to see our students filling the studios with energy, laughter, and hard work. We know the first two weeks can be super busy in the hallways so we appreciate your patience, in advance, as we work to get everyone settled. Thank you for trusting us with your child’s dance journey. Here’s to a season full of growth, artistry, and joy!

MAY 5-9: TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK - DONATIONS DUE BY FRIDAY, MAY 2

Teacher Appreciation week is this month! This is a GREAT opportunity to let all your teachers know how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication. In celebration of our teachers here at the studio we are having a “shower your teacher week.” All our teachers love personal thank you notes and pictures, please shower them with your kind words throughout this week!

Each of our great teachers will be spotlighted in May on Instagram & Facebook. Watch for our posts and get to know a little bit more about our talented faculty! Let's show them some love!

Here is what we are putting together for our teachers:

  1. A little note for their teacher. This small act is something that makes a big difference! They love getting special notes from their students! This time of year is very busy for teachers, so a sweet note can give them the extra boost of energy they need! We have a basket at the front desk that you can drop your letters in.

  2. Our Parent Committee is organizing a group gift for each of our amazing teachers. We hope to collect enough to get each teacher a goodie basket and a gift card! If you would like to contribute to the group teacher gifts, your name will be included on the card! You can contribute in one of three ways:

  • Send an email with the amount you would like to contribute and the office can add it to your account.

  • Venmo funds to @amysimkins and include "teacher gift" in the memo.

  • Leave an envelope in the tuition box with cash labeled "teacher gift" with your name on it!

All group gift contributions are due by Friday, May 2nd at noon.

We hope you'll join us in making this week special by participating in our group efforts or by coming up with your own idea! We are looking forward to showering our teachers with kind words and love from all of their students.

MAY 19-21: BRING A STUFFIE WEEK!

Get ready for Spirit Week – Dancers can bring their favorite stuffed animal to class for some extra fun and cozy vibes while we dance! Our stuffies will make a great audience as we practice for our recital! Let’s make it a week full of smiles, snuggles, and sweet memories!

DANCE IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE WELL BEING OF THE CHILD: Dance has many benefits! We’ve listed a few of our favorites below in three categories: academic, emotional, and physical.  Intellectual and Academic Benefits, Social and Emotional Benefits, and Physical Benefits.  Read more HERE.

We are so excited this year to have a “stretch of the month” and a “strength challenge” in our acro/tumbling classes! Encourage your child to work on these skills at home to help them improve even faster!  Be more involved by printing off the at home practice tracker HERE.

FOR PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL DANCERS- MAY THEME: Hello Preschool Dance Parents! We love our preschool dance themes!  This month is “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on my Head.”  We are going to be using some fun props in class this month like our parachute and an umbrella. At home you can be working on: skipping, memory, 3rd position, toe touches, and confidence. Recital is just around the corner.  We hope you are finding time at home to review recital routines.

Classes are putting the finishing touches on their dances, and we can’t wait for them to take the stage!  Get ready to board the “Cruise Ship Express” and let your dreams set sail as our dancers entertain you and take you on an exciting voyage full of sun, sand, and dancing under the sea! UNDERWEAR TO CLASS

It's that time of year we would like to remind our female dance and ballet/jazz classes about our underwear rule: female dancers don't wear underwear, they wear tights.  A swimmer doesn’t wear underwear under their swimsuits and a dancer doesn’t wear underwear underneath her leotard. We need your help NOW before recital gets here.  Let's start working on it so we don't have panty problems at the performance.  THANKS!

WHY WE OFFER PERFORMANCE TEAMS: First, it’s important to remember that we believe dance is invaluable to ALL of our students, no matter how many classes they take!  Our company team’s purpose is grounded in our mission to provide an increasingly comprehensive education for those who want a deeper dance experience.  And while there are many reasons why we’ve chosen to offer a company team here at Expressions Dance, we can sum them all up with three overarching objectives. Read about them HERE.

Want to learn more about performance teams? Check it out HERE. Company auditions are June 3-5.

FALL ENROLLMENT NOW OPEN FOR ACADEMIC PRESCHOOL! We are now accepting registration for Fall preschool at both locations!  The benefit to our preschool is that it INCLUDES our dance and tumbling classes!  Get it all done in one!  There is no reason to sign up for separate dance, tumbling, and preschool programs!  We offer it all and have the BEST TEACHERS around!  Leap'n Learners ignites a child's mind and awakens a passion for learning and movement that will last a lifetime. Space is limited! www.goleapnlearn.com

COMMUNTY CONNECTION
This past month we were able to support the Woods Cross, Farmington, Bountiful, Viewmont, Northridge, Roy, and Davis Drill Teams by having our company dancers perform at their year-end showcases.  These performances have all been positive experiences filled with love, support, fun, high energy, and excitement! The dancers just love being in front of an audience and you could see it on their faces. We are so grateful for the opportunity to shine on stage out in the community.

FOR PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL DANCERS- APRIL THEME

Every month our lesson plan focuses on learning and mastering several skills. This month our theme is “Never Ending Story.”  We use our imaginations this month to explore our creativity.

The studio will be closed for Spring Break.  Enjoy your time off!  Reminder: Tuition is based on the season regardless of how many weeks are in a given month.  Monthly tuition is calculated based off the total number of classes during the year, split into equal monthly payments.

Show us your best “spring break splits” wherever you are! Tag @expressionsdanceutah in your Facebook/Instagram posts and stories and use the hashtag #springbreaksplits2025

WHAT PROGRESS LOOKS LIKE IN DANCE

Achievements in dance can be seen in small ways and big ones, and we advocate for celebrating both!  In our experience at Expressions Dance, progress is much more about the personal wins than it is about the name or number of your child’s class level.  Click HERE to read about what progress looks like in dance!

FALL ENROLLMENT IS OPEN FOR ACADEMIC PRESCHOOL! We are now accepting registration for Fall 2025-26 preschool at both locations!

FOR PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL DANCERS- MARCH THEME

Every month our lesson plan focuses on learning and mastering several skills. In March our theme is "Leavin' on a Jet Plane." We will be taking off on an adventure to explore a different country each week. We will discover new styles of cultural music while incorporating valuable dancing skills. We are also starting recital routines this month! We will be focusing on: passes (ballet and jazz), toe/heel rocks, balancing, sad faces, chasses, and keeping our hands to ourselves.  We encourage you to get involved and have them practice their skills at home!

PARKING LOT SAFETY

Please remember the drive through lane at Bountiful is not a waiting spot. When you are stopping the flow of traffic in our drive through to wait for classes to come out, cars back up all the way onto Highway 89 and it’s not safe. Help us by waiting in designated parking stalls and being courteous to other cars trying to exit the parking lot.

PROPER DANCE ATTIRE

Please review the class dress code requirements and make sure your dancer is dressed appropriately for class!  We cannot provide proper feedback if we aren't able to see the alignment of our dancers. Send your dancers with their hair pulled back (bun for ballet). STARS dancers must wear their uniform, pink tights (footless or convertible so they can pull them up for jazz), and ballet shoes. STARS dancers in 3rd grade and older also need jazz shoes. Please help us by sending your child to class in the right attire.
